Homebrew Draa'kors Species Details
Cursed Existance
Long ago; before the days of peace and prosperity; there was an immense war between the chromatic and metallic dragons. No land was safe, no ocean was without blood soaked tides, and no sky was not filled with the sounds of thundering roars of the ancient wyrms battles. Eventually, the younger new races were convinced to join the war to fight the tyrannous chromatic dragons. The chromatics were outnumbered by the vast amount of creatures that sought their destruction. Not even the ancient wyrms that flooded the skies could continue battling due to the new found help the humanoids provided. So in order to combat this new found force, a black dragon on the verge of becoming a dracolich, tried one last bet to turn the tides. Through the experimentation of curses and ancient raw magic flooding into many subjects they created a new powerful being. The construction of a new race was now made into being, but by the time they were created the war was over... With no effort to be used to hunt, the now dracolich continued his research in order to create the perfect new race called by his own name "Draa'kor".
Through many draconic-kin lifetimes, the dracolich and his children watched as humanity, elves and dwarves grew to become the dominant races. Slowly he made his children flourish in secret. A forbidden race, a forbidden monster, a forbidden perfection he would unleash upon the world. However, fate would say otherwise to this evil plan. His own subjects grew smarter and eventually evolved into a sentience that the dragon did not realize would be his down fall. Turning against their own creator they would do as he wished, and consume his magic in order to become "Perfect". The perfect cursed race hidden from the world, but slowly planning for so much more.
Physical Description
Draa'kors embody the power of true dragons with the sophistication of humanoids. They are usually large, with well developed muscular structures and a variety of tough scales which are hardest around the shoulders, spine and shins. They come in a large spectrum of matte colors, with darker shades signifying more pure dragon blood. They have long, semi-prehensile tails which are around 3/4 the height of the individual and are often used as a weapon. The plates range in size, larger plated individuals usually gaining more respect. Draa'kors heads greatly resemble that of true dragons, except with toned down and occasionally mixed traits. Such as a green dragon's sail and a black dragon's curling horns. One thing that defines Draa'kors from other similar races are the striking scale patterns that are unique to individuals, swirling wave like patterns to jagged, lightning streaks. These patterns are always of a contrasting color to the main scales, either a different shade or entirely different color. In family lineages the patterns are always similar, often having a common trend or 'theme'.
