Homebrew Anthropomorphic Fox (Totally not a furry) Species Details

So uhh.... anthropomorphic foxes are fun. (this may be a bit too powerful, but I thought all the abilities made sense) I'd love any feedback that you have on the race!

Anthropomorphic Fox (Totally not a furry) Traits

As an anthropomorphic fox, you gain many abilities related to dexterity and cunning.

Proficiencies

As a fox you are especially quick and cunning. You gain proficiency in the Acrobatics, Deception, and Stealth skills.

Born of the Woods

You have an inherent connection with nature, giving you the ability to cast Speak With Animals and Speak With Plants once per short or long rest.

Ability Score Increase

Your Dexterity score increases by 2, and your Charisma score increases by 1.

Age

Anthropomorphic foxes reach maturity by age 3. They don’t usually live longer than 30 years.

Alignment

Most foxes are good and rarely choose sides when it comes to law and chaos. Tribal leaders and warriors might be lawful, while explorers and adventurers might tend toward chaotic.

Size

These humanoid foxes are about 5 feet tall. They have thin, lightweight bodies that weigh between 80 and 100 pounds. Your size is Medium.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 35 feet.

Climbing

You have a climbing speed equal to your movement speed. To use this speed, you can’t be wearing medium or heavy armor.

Claws

Your claws are natural weapons, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with them, you deal slashing damage equal to 1d4 + your Dexterity modifier, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common, Sylvan, and Primordial.
