Homebrew Catlon Species Details
Catlon's are tiny bipedal cat race who come in a variety of shapes and colors. Some look like house cats walking on two legs, others are slightly more anthropomorphic. Nearly all remain small and catlike however, regardless of overall shape.
Catlon's society has always been built around their cunning and intelligence. This intelligence has adapted Catlon culture in different ways across forms of society.
Catlons typically grow up in one of the following cultures:
Inventive Catlons: These catlon's use their intelligence to build elaborate machines to do the hard work for them. They devote their time to studying machinery, arts and science. They make up for their small stature with inventions and creativity.
Roguish Catlons: Some Catlons grow up as rouges, thieves and pirates. their small stature allowing them to sneak into places making them effective cat thieves. Adaptability and versatility are highly sought after traits in this culture.
Magical Catlons: These Catlons rely more so on magic than science. Catlon's within this culture are especially gifted in the magical arts and feel a natural connection to the arcane.
Mixed Cultures: Some Catlons live amongst other Races, adopting the culture and ways of life of these regions. Catlons who grow up around other races often employ diplomacy over direct combat which would put them at disadvantage due to size and strength differences, all though magic or science can balance things on occasion.
Catlon Traits
Bonus to Intelligence, Wisdom or Charisma. Has many useful catlike traits. Has additional bonus based on the culture they grew up in.Bonus Stat
your higher brain function gives you a large bonus in the following: Intelligence / Wisdom / Charisma
+3 to Intelligence , Charisma or Wisdom
Small Stature
Standing at no more than 2 feet tall, no bigger than a house cat. Catlons can squeeze through gaps of 5 inches or more. They are also extremely lightweight, easily carried by other races, capable of running over snow without sinking, etc...
+1 to Dex, but also -2 to Strength.
Your Size is Tiny, taking up a 2.5ft by 2.5ft square. You are small enough to stand underneath or on top of medium sized creatures (and larger), taking up the same space.
You can pass through other creatures, Hostile creatures count as difficult terrain to pass through.
Cat's Speak
You have the ability speak (or rather Meow) to all manner of cats. This is including everything from house cats to lions and everything in-between. Sometimes Catlons will use cat-speak to prevent eavesdropping from other races.
Cat's Claws
Use your Catlon Claws as a special unarmed weapon; deals 1d4 + 1 slashing damage. Scales with martial arts.
Your claws give you a climbing speed of 30ft and can also be used for various actions like cutting ropes, scratching furniture, etc..
Catlon Culture

Inventive Catlon: You grew up in a environment of technology and science. You have grown up in an environment where creativity, art and knowledge was highly praised. Your advanced knowledge and inventiveness grant you the following bonuses: You may add one set of tools OR one instrument to your inventory, you are proficient with these tools. Your knowledge of many things makes your proficient in investigation. you may also roll at advantage whenever a check is related to some kind of technology or science is involved.
Roguish Catlon: You grew up in a environment of uncertainty. You have grown up in an environment where one must sleep with one eye open at all times. Over time you have learned hard lessons in life to always be prepared and adaptable. You are a light sleeper, you require half the time to feel fully rested and are likely to hear an ambush or attack coming while asleep. Your upbringing has made you proficient with the perception skill. Knowing how to swim and swim well is the difference between telling a tale or becoming a snack, gain 30ft of swim speed.
Magic Catlon: You grew up in a environment of magic and whimsy. You have grown up in an environment where magic has shaped your life. Magic flows through your blood naturally and you feel a special connection with the arcane. You may choose one free cantrip to add to your spell list. You are proficient with the Arcana skill
Mixed Culture: You grew up amongst the other races. You have grown up in an environment 4 times your size. Your small size amongst your giant peers has you employing your intellect and charm to great effect. Any race that underestimates you is all the easier to influence with cute words and a innocent face. dodging attacks of larger creatures is paramount skill for survival granting +1 to AC, you are also proficient in the persuasion skill.
