Homebrew Werewolf Species Details

Werewolves were born of the line of the Wolfe. Seeking only to protect his people and bring balance and peace, Wolfe made a wish to a Djinn that he would be able to fulfill these dreams. Granting him his wish, the Djinn left a curse on the Wolfe line; these became the first Werewolves. This curse is passed from parent to child, and while some merely have dormant genes, all are cursed with the burden of their forefathers.

Werewolf Traits

Born to either one Wolfe and one Non-Wolfe or two Wolfes, these Werewolves are bigger and stockier than Non-Werewolves, and their hair grows faster and thicker. The Werewolf trait is an X-Linked gene, and is thus more common in males than in females.

Age

You live as long as whatever race is the main part of your genetic history.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30ft in humanoid form, 40ft in wolf form.

Alignment

Werewolves are extremely loyal to those they consider 'their kind'. They tend to display slightly animalistic tendencies, making you tend towards chaos, but you are not bound to this.

Size

Werewolves average around 6ft tall. You're size is medium.

Languages

You speak, read, and write Common and one language of your choice. You also can communicate with wolves and other werewolves in a pseudo language of yips, barks, and growls.

Shapeshifter

You may change shapes between that of a humanoid and a wolf at will. As an action, you may transform into a wolf. Your statistics, other than your AC, are the same in wolf form. Any equipment you're wearing or carrying isn't transformed. You revert to your normal form if you die. The only language you can speak in wolf form is the wolf pseudo language.

Keen Senses

You have proficiency in the Perception skill. You also have advantage on Survival checks to track creatures.

Pack Tactics

You have advantage on attack rolls against a creature if at least one of our allies is within 5 feet of the creature and the ally isn't incapacitated.

Wolf Skin

While in wolf form, your unarmored AC becomes 13 + Dexterity modifier.

Wolf Fighting

While in wolf form, your teeth and claws can be used as natural weapons. You are proficient with your teeth and claws. Your bite does 1d6 + Strength Modifier piercing damage and your claws do 1d4 + Strength modifier slashing damage.

Lunar Strength

While in the light of a full moon, your Strength score increases by 2

Silver Weakness

You have vulnerability to damage from silvered weapons.

Lunar Blur

While in the light of the moon, you have disadvantage on initiative rolls, but advantage on your first attack made in combat. In addition, at the start of combat you must make a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw, on a failure you can only target the hostile creature that is closest to you for attacks that combat encounter. If multiple creatures are the same distance from you, then you can choose between thos options.

Forced Morph

When under the light of a full moon, make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw. On a failure, you must use your Shapechange feature to turn into a wolf and cannot turn back until sunrise.

Dark vision

Wolves are nocturnal, your eyes are adept to the dark environment for hunting at night.

Ability Score Increase

Your Strength score is increased by 2 and Constitution score increases by 1.
