Homebrew Chah-Khat (Felitaur) Species Details

The Chah-Khat are an enigma, which apperared in the Quoraska Jungle close to what is now Nicodranas, shortly after the Calamity.  Even the Chah-Khat who first appeared had no memory of ether if some divine being created them, or if they hailed from so other world.  While cautious, they quickly adapted to their new environment, and opened up trade with other peoples in the neighboring lands, and while not numerous, they have spread over the intervening centuries as far as Tussoa.  A few small clans have settled in Xorhas, and other kingdoms, but only a few brave adventurers have attempted to call the lands of the Dwendalian Empire.

The Chah-Khat are feline race with a tabaxi-like upper torso, arranged much like a centaur, with a lower body of a large cat (cougar or tiger-like), and usually stand between 5' and 5'10", with only the tallest topping 6'.  Due to an unusual quirk, they do not weigh quite as much as one would expect, typically ranging between 350lbs to 425lbs.  Equipped with cat-like claws on all of their six limbs, as well as grasping paws on their front feet, Chah-Khats are excellent climbers.  No one is quite sure, but either due to generations of exposure to the many poisons and venoms of the Quoraska Jungle, or some quirk from wherever their species originated from, Chah-Khats are highly resistant to poisons.  One other quirk is that, while at first glance, they appear to be female, all are actually fully hermaphroditic (due to their fur, this is not usually readily apparent), and most have a non-binary or bigender gender identity.

Chah-Khats are frequently highly gregarious, and more likely to judge someone by their choices and actions instead of their looks.  Given their general comfort with, and love of nature, most will at least generally follow Melora, the Wild Mother, but some have come to accept other faiths.  Most magic users and religious types among them will be druids, with monks or fighters being common among adventurers. The occasional barbarian does arise among the Chah-Khats, along with the rare wizard or sorcerer, but clerics (with the exception of those calling upon the Wild Mother) and paladins are a very rare sight.

After using the Dash action, you can perform a single melee attack as a bonus action.
