Homebrew Ancient of Etheirys Species Details

The people of Etheirys turned their vast wild world into a paradise that merged man-made architecture and the natural flora and stone of the lands. 

The best and brightest of these men and women were part of a group that lead the entirety of etheirys, known as the Convocation of Fourteen. 

To aid them in their works of bettering the star upon which they lived, the convocation developed potent Creation Magicks that would one day become a bane to their world. 

Academic Aficionado 

While dedicated scholars and sages of natural and arcane lore, the mage-born people's of etheirys were also diligent students of war and would rain down  aetheric fury when diplomacy failed. 

Rhyme and Reason

More often than not, very few Etheiryans acted on emotional whim or fancy. Nearly every decision made is made with extensive pondering or consultation with a superior or the convocation. 

Societal Equality 

Etheiryans traditionally wore identical robes and half-masks, as expressions of personal identity were considered rude and unseemly, unless they were a member of the congregation. 

Retired members of the convocation who chose to remain on the star would don lighter robes than the normal black ones.

Ancient Etheiryan Names

Though little consistency is found, most people of Etheirys are named in ancient Greek or Latin after gods or demi-gods.

Ability Score Increase

Your Intelligence score increases by 2, and your Constitution score increases by 1.

Age

Etheiryans have lifespans that far surpass modern humans and most elves. They enter adulthood late into their first century.

Among the ancients, the holder of the seat of Emet Selch of the Convocation of Fourteen, reveals that they can live nigh short an eternity. But, most tend to "retire", or choose to let their essence return to the ethereal realm. Though, a small number remain even after they choose to relinquish their stations and duties.

Size

The smallest of Etheiryans average about 8ft tall and weigh between 230-275 pounds. Your size is Medium.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Sagacity

You have proficiency in the History skill.

You also know the guidance cantrip and at 7th level, you learnfabricate.  These spells dont count against your number of spells know. 

Aetheric Manipulation

You have advantage on a saving throw of your choice against spells and magical effects. Once choosen, this advantage is permanent.

At 3rd level, you can focus your reserves of aether to occasionally ward off harm. When you take damage, you can use your reaction to roll a d10. Add your Constitution modifier to the number rolled and reduce the damage by that total. Once you use this trait, the dice drops one category, i.e, d8, d6, d4. After a d4, your aetheric reserves are spent. 

Inversely, you can roll to add this aether to amplify one instance of damage on your turn or as a reaction. 

You regain all uses of this feature after you finish a long rest.
