Homebrew Amphyte Species Details

Amphibian humanoids, the Amphytes are primarily cave and beach dwelling. Having traits of salamanders, newts, axolotls, as well as several extinct amphibious species, these people can breath underwater and are resistant to poison, which is bolstered by their improved constitution and dexterity, however, they are very soft-skinned, and are very weak to all forms of slashing or piercing damage. With an average lifespan of 150 years, they age quite slowly, yet in this time they are known to be quite wise, even as children. Usually standing at 7'6", and at most 10'7", with an average weight of 230 kg or 507 lbs, and weighing at most 400 kg or 881.8 lbs, they are very heavy, yet also quite buoyant. Speaking a language of their own, known only as Shalafi, most similar to the human language of Slovenian, they are very superstitious, and will often take coincidence as something caused by those nearby, or forces influenced by them. They are also a very ancient race, older than even humans, yet manage to stay hidden most of the time anyways.
