You begin to steal the very semblance of one creature that you can see within range. The target must succeed on a Charisma saving throw or be cursed for the duration.

Whenever you take damage, you can use your reaction to force the cursed creature to make a Charisma saving throw. On a failure, you have resistance to the triggering damage, and the target takes the same amount of damage you take.

In addition, those around you and the target can’t distinguish between the two of you any longer. While you are within 5 feet of the target, the images of you begin to flow together such that anyone who attacks one has a chance of accidentally hitting the other instead. Each time a creature targets you or the creature with an attack during the spell's duration, roll a d20 to determine whether the attack targets you or the creature. On a roll of 11 or higher, the attack targets the creature. Otherwise, the attack targets you.

An attacker is immune to this effect if it can't see, if it relies on senses other than sight, such as blindsight, or if it can see through illusions, as with truesight.
