You produce a temporary copy of a common, single-use consumable item worth up to 50 gold pieces - such as a glass of wine, a vial of poison, or a spell scroll. The item persists for up to 1 minute before vanishing, even if separated into multiple components (e.g. wine drunk from the glass). Optionally, you can discard any part of the item, which causes the discarded part to instantly vanish. After it vanishes, any effects of the item such as damage or imposed conditions persist as they normally would.
You must have spent an hour studying the item or another of the same kind, as if attuning to it. If you prepare spells, you can do this as part of your daily preparations. You can focus in this way on a number of items up to your proficiency bonus; if you study a new item beyond this limit, you lose focus on a previously studied item.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd or 3rd level, you can reproduce an uncommon item worth up to 200 gold pieces. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th or 5th level, you can reproduce a rare item worth up to 2,000 gold pieces; using a spell slot of 6th-8th level, you can reproduce a very rare item worth up to 20,000 gold pieces; finally, using a spell slot of 9th level, you can reproduce a legendary item of any value.
Regardless of the level of the spell slot, this spell can only reproduce single-use consumable items.
