You have learned to punish those who abuse the gift and blessing of the magical and divine arts. Wrap the cord around some part of their body and say your incantation to cut them off from the weave completely.
Make a Melee spell attack against at target. If the attack succeeds, your target is cut off from magic. They cannot cast spells. Weapons and armor they posses lose magical properties. Potions do not work for them.
If they are not native to this plane of existence, such as fey, fiends, celestials, or aberration, they begin to suffer the effects of being outside their natural place in the world. All their checks and saves are made with disadvantage. The cannot use any racial abilities and cannot make magical attacks.
Undead and constructs are immediately paralyzed, but not outright killed.
Monstrosities have their movements halved and cannot make magical attacks.
The only way to undo this effect is with a Greater Restoration cast at 9th level, a Wish Spell, or other similarly powerful restoration.
This spell also remove any curse currently on a being, and severs connections to all gods.
