You attempt to wrest control of a spell from a creature within range. If the creature is concentrating on a spell of 4th level or lower, they lose concentration and you begin to concentrate on the spell as if you had cast it. If the spell in question has an effect that is centered on a certain point or target, you may shift it to another point or target within range.
If the creature is concentrating on a spell of 5th level or higher, make an ability check using your spellcasting ability. The DC equals 10 + the spell's level. On a success, the creature loses concentration and you take control of the spell.
If the targeted spell is 5th level or higher, you must expend a spell slot of your own to begin concentrating on that spell. If you do not have a spell slot of that level or higher, you immediately take 2d6 psychic damage per spell level above 4th, but you may begin concentrating on the spell.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th level or higher, the interrupted spell has no effect if its level is less than or equal to the level of the spell slot you used.
