A light source is placed beneath a piece of glass during the casting of this spell, during which you and up to 8 other individuals hold hands. By holding hands in this manner, you are able to extend this vision to them; their vision breaks if the hand contact is broken or if either you or they wish to end their vision early.
Completing the casting of this spell allows you a glimpse of the area you are currently in out to a distance of 100 foot radius from the point of casting where the light source used as a material component must remain. While the light source remains stationary you can observe events that have occurred in this location over the past decade, shifting through time at will.
As you observe the goings on throughout time, you are unable to interact with anything from past timelines, simply to observe them. You pass through walls or floors as desired, and creatures move through your incorporeal form as though you weren't there.
Alternatively, you may declare during the casting you wish to direct your focus to the future; a far more difficult task. As such, your vision ahead in time is limited to a 20 foot radius, and 1 day in the future. Things seen in this light appear to be almost fuzzy, since they are not yet set in stone as events of the past are, and actions taken may alter these events.
You may specify at will during the maintained concentration a specific event, person, or item, in order to focus your inquiry. If multiple occurrences of the inquiry happen through out time, you observe them chronologically, from past to present.
WHEN CASTING AT A HIGHER LEVEL: Cast at 8th level, the duration in the past increases from a decade to a century, and for the future from a day to a week. Cast at 9th level, the time in the past increases to a millennia, and for the future to a fortnight. The 12 hour duration of the spell is not changed, nor is the distance that the spell reaches outwards.
