This spell requires you to put a gear or cog in a creature's inventory and to say "Cogvín." As soon as the spell has been inflicted, the creature that has been affected will have to make a DC16 CON Saving throw. If the creature fails, they must take initially 1d6 damage as the process has begun. Parts of their body, including muscles, joints, vital organs, etc, have started turning into a combination of gears, cogs, motors, and more. For every turn in combat or every 3 minutes outside of combat, the DM must roll 1 more d6 each time (ex. if they rolled 1d6 last turn, they must roll 2d6 on their next turn and so on and so forth). if they succeed the same CON Save, they only take half the damage. The only way to stop the spell is to either use a Level 9 Remove Curse spell or let it take the full course and let it turn the creature into a clockwork version of itself.
