You point at one creature you can see within range. A beam of crackling energy extends to them and begins draining their connections to the weave. The creature makes a saving throw using its spellcasting ability. On a failure, they lose a first level spell slot, if they have one. On a success, nothing happens, and the spell is wasted. This spell has no effect on creatures that cannot cast spells.
At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the spell slot level or the number of spell slots you can drain increases to match the spell level. The level at which you cast this spell should equal the total levels of spell slots you drain from the target creature. For example, you can cast this spell at 4th level to drain one 4th level spell slot, two 2nd level spell slots, four 1st level spell slots, or one 2nd level spell slot and two 1st level spell slots, to name a few options.
