When using the Animal Summoning Spell, the caster must roll a WIS 11 saving throw to see if they can cast it. If passed they may summon an animal the DM declares is in the range of their level considering that they have studied/befriended/learned that type of species is in the general area. Depending on what level the character is will determine what creatures they can summon.
At levels 7 and 8 summoning something from those tiers will cause stage 3 exhaustion and must rest there and then otherwise it will bump up to stage 4.
