This spell creates an undead familiar. Choose a tiny pile of bones or a corpse of a tiny or larger creature. Your spell imbues the target with a foul mimicry of life, raising a tiny bit of it as an undead creature. It takes a form appropriate to the materials it was raised from, and uses the stats of a crawling claw (MM:44).

On each of your turns, you can use a bonus action to mentally command any creature you made with this spell if the creature is within 60 feet of you (if you control multiple creatures, you can command any or all of them at the same time, issuing the same command to each one). You decide what action the creature will take and where it will move during its next turn. If you issue no commands, the creature only defends itself against hostile creatures.

The creature is under your control for 1 minute, after which it stops obeying any command you've given it. To maintain control of the creature for another minute, you must cast this spell on the creature again before the current 1-minute period ends. This use of the spell reasserts your control over up to four creatures you have animated with this spell, rather than animating a new one.

Finally, when you cast a spell with a range of touch, your tiny undead can deliver the spell as if it had cast the spell. Your tiny undead must be within 60 feet of you, and it must use its reaction to deliver the spell when you cast it. If the spell requires an attack roll, you use your attack modifier for the roll.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, you extend the duration of the spell for each slot level above 1st. At 2nd level, the duration becomes 1 hour, and it becomes permanent at 3rd level or higher (unless it is dispelled or destroyed).

* - (A tiny or larger pile of bones &/or flesh)
