Vines choked with thorns, blossoms, leaflets, and other floral debris burst to life on and around the subject of this spell, trapping it.
Choose a creature that you can see within range. The target must succeed on a Strength saving throw or be restrained for the duration. Additionally, the target takes 5d8 piercing damage as it struggles against the thorny entanglement. This damage is considered magical for the purpose of overcoming damage resistances. This spell has no effect on plants or incorporeal creatures.
A creature restrained by the plants can use its action to make a Strength check against your spell save DC. On a success, it frees itself. On a failure, the subject remains restrained and takes the spell's damage.
When the spell ends, the conjured plants wilt away.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 6th level or higher, you can target one additional creature for each slot level above 5th. The creatures must be within 30 feet of each other when you target them.
