The caster takes an object in hand and asks someone to hold on to it for them (the exact phrase can be modified). The target makes a Wisdom saving throw, and if they fail it, they take the object without question and store it away. They will forget about the object’s existence immediately after doing so. If they interact with the object afterwards, they will rationalize why they have it, store it away and forget about it again regardless of what it is, to the point where more volatile or strange objects will appear as something more common.

If confronted about why they have the object by another person, they get to make another saving throw, starting at the caster’s spell DC and lowering by 2 for every subsequent saving throw. If the object is forcibly taken from them, the spell ends. 

If the target succeeds, they are immune to this effect for 24 hours. They are unaware that you attempted to charm them, but depending on the item, they may still question your intent.

If the caster wants the object back, the target will willingly give them back the object and the spell will end. They will not remember anything about the object, except for the initial trade.
