You twist the strands of time in a 15 foot radius, slightly altering the flow of time for creatures within the distortion. You choose targets up to your spellcasting modifier (min 1) within the distortion to be affected.

When you cast this spell, you must pick its orientation, changing the effects of the spell

Dextral: Creatures within the area are gilded by the distortion, creating a trail of afterimages which follow them. Affected creatures have their movement increased by 20 feet, and they gain +1 AC. Both effects end when the spell ends.

Sinistral: Creatures within the area are impeded by the distortion, staggering as their timelines are sundered. Affected creatures must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, they take 3d8 necrotic damage, have their movement reduced by half, and roll Dexterity saving throws at disadvantage until the spell ends. On a successful save, they take half damage and do not suffer the penalties.

When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the damage of the sinistral orientation increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 3rd. Additionally, the dextral orientation’s movement bonus is increased by 5 feet for each slot level above 3rd.
