A bolt of lightning arcs down from the sky to strike a creature within range. Make a ranged spell attack against the target's Armor Class. On a hit, the target takes 7d4 lightning damage and is blinded until the end of your next turn. On a miss, the target takes half damage, and is not blinded. 

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the spell's damage increases by 3d4 for each slot level above 2nd.
