Aenarion's Unlikely Aegis

In response to being targeted, you flip the coin in your hand and snap your finger before it lands. This summons the unpredictable magic of the Twilight Court in an attempt to shift the target to a different creature within range, thus allowing the caster to potentially evade it.

Spell. When targeted by a spell that targets only you, you can use your reaction to try and change the target. If the spell is of 3rd level or lower, the caster chooses a new target within range. If the spell is of 4th level or higher, make an ability check using your spellcasting ability. The DC equals 10 + the spell’s level.

Ability. When targeted by an ability originating from a creature or object you can see, make an ability check using your spellcasting ability against the DC of the associated save. If the DC has no associated save, the DC is instead 15. In such case that the DC is equal to or less than 13, the caster succeeds without needing to roll.

Regardless of the nature of the source, on a success, the caster chooses a new target within range. On a failure, randomly determine the new target from amongst all creatures within range of the caster, which can be the caster or the source that triggered the spell (provided they are within range), and then resolve the effect as normal. 

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, there is no need to make an ability check if the DC of the check is less than or equal to 10 + the level of the spell slot you used.
