An incredibly strong current forces the water away from you, creating a 10-foot radius pocket of air. You can use your bonus action when you take your movement on your turn to keep it centered on you. The air pocket lasts for the spell’s duration. If you cast this spell in open water, the wind created by the current keeps you suspended in the center, but all other creatures in the radius fall without anything to suspend them.

The current has the following effects:

  • The loud churning of the water deafens you and other creatures in its area
  • It hedges out poisonous or toxic areas of effect inside it's radius
  • The area is difficult terrain for creatures which don't have a walking speed
  • The attack rolls of ranged weapon attacks have disadvantage if the attacks pass in or out of the air pocket.
