Discover the intended meaning of a text or cipher no longer than 200 words
You spend 10 minutes carefully applying chalk or charcoal powder to the piece of text you want to decipher. This can be an encoded letter or an archway engraved with text in a language you do not speak. After applying the component you blow on the surface* causing one of the following effects depending on the material used:
- Chalk - As you blow on it the chalk dust is propelled into the air. Within it you see the text, now decoded and written in a language of your choice that you know. The letters appear as glowing, shimmering particles of chalk, clearly visible to you and anyone within range.
- Charcoal - As you blow on it the charcoal dust ignites in a heatless flame of fine embers suspended in the air. Within them, you see the decoded text in a language that you know. The letters appear as particularly large and bright embers. Visible to you and anyone within range.
The message remains suspended in the air for an hour or until dispelled.
*This spell can only be performed in an atmosphere of air.
