You combine the physical forms of two creatures within range that you can touch. These two creatures must have a Wisdom score lower than 10, or be willing to be melded. If the creatures are unwilling and have a Wisdom score higher than 10 they must succeed a Constitution saving throw or be melded. When two creatures are melded, the creature with the highest Wisdom modifier gains primary control, though some traits or instincts such as barking or ribbiting tend to bleed through.

The melded creature, or chimaera, acts independently of you, but retains any allegiances or relationships it had prior to melding. If two creatures in the chimaera are unwilling, they can make a Constitution saving throw once per day to attempt to take control of the chimaera or to unmeld.

In combat, the chimaera rolls its own initiative and acts on its own turn. When the chimaera drops to 0 hit points, both creatures die, having a shared body. The chimaera uses the stat block of the creature with primary control, however it gains the proficiencies, skills, and senses of all creatures in the chimaera. However, the chimaera’s movement speed is the average of all creatures in the chimaera and for each additional creature above four melded into the monstrity, there is a 10 foot penalty to movement speed. Any additional movement speeds such as flying or swimming are not factored into this calculation, but may be allowed at the Dungeon Master’s discretion.

When dispelled, the chimaeras are separated physically, although retain some traces of their mental bond. These two creatures share glimpses of each other pasts, and may maintain some instincts of their bonds. You may only meld two creatures at a time at the 1st level.

* - (A drop of blood, strand of hair, or otherwise that belongs to the creatures in the chimaera)
