A bright streak flashes from your pointing finger to a point you choose within range and then blossoms with a low roar into an explosion of flame. Each creature in a 5-foot-radius sphere centered on that point must make a Dexterity saving throw. A target takes 8d6 fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
The fire spreads around corners. It does not ignite flammable objects in the area.
At initiative count 20 on the following round, the spell bounces to one random creature within 50 ft. of the original location. The spell's original effects take place, effects all creatures within a 5-foot sphere centered on that creature, but the damage is reduced to 4d6. The spell continues to bounce to a random creature, with the bounce distance and damage halving each time, until there are no creatures to bounce to.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th level or higher, the initial fireball damage is increased by 1d6 for each level beyond 4th.
