You trace out in the air the Primordial word for acid and bind the glyph onto a weapon, causing the wounds it inflicts to sizzle with a burning ichor. Choose either yourself or an ally within 30ft of you. The chosen creature must be wielding a melee weapon. Until the spell ends, attacks made with that weapon deal additional acid damage equal to 1d8 plus your proficiency bonus.
Whenever the affected weapon is used to make an attack that hits, its wielder can choose to end the above effect in order to give the target of the attack a -2 penelty to AC. The target may make a Constitution saving throw at the end of its turn to reduce this penalty by 1 on a success, or take 1d4 acid damage per point of AC penalty remaining on a failure. This effect ends when the penalty to AC has been reduced to 0.
At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the additional acid damage dealt by the effected weapon increases by 1d8 for each spell slot above 2nd.
Additionally, when you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the penalty to AC increases to -3. When you use a spell slot of 6th level or higher you may add your spellcasting ability modifier to the additional acid damage dealt by the effected weapon, the penalty to AC increases to -4, and the acid damage the target takes for failing its Constitution saving throws become d6's. When you use a spell slot of 8th level or higher, the penelty to AC increases to -5, and you may add your proficiency bonus to the acid damage the target takes for failing its saving throw.
