You touch a creature and invoke the power of pure evil. One creature you touch must make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, they take 4d10 necrotic damage. This damage can't reduce the target to below 1 hit point. Also on a failed save, the target gains one level of exhaustion that can't be removed by anything less than a greater restoration spell. The exhaustion level goes away naturally in two days. Whenever the target fails a saving throw against this spell before then, the duration resets. A creature that reaches six levels of this exhaustion doesn't die. Instead, all levels of exhaustion are removed, the creature's Charisma, Intelligence, and Wisdom scores all become 5, and the creature gains a random form of long-term madness that changes every 3d4 hours. This madness can't be removed by any means short of a wish spell. This use of the wish spell counts as duplicating a spell of 8th level or lower. On a successful save, the creature takes half damage and does not suffer exhaustion.
