You call forth an elemental servant within 10ft of you in an unoccupied space, its form depending on the gem used to summon it. Your elemental servant acts independently of you, but it always obeys your commands. In combat, it rolls its own initiative and acts on its own turn. It obeys any verbal commands that you issue to it (no action required by you). If you don't issue any commands to the elemental, it defends itself from hostile creatures but otherwise takes no actions.
When the elemental servant drops to 0 hit points, it disappears, leaving behind no physical form. It reappears after you cast this spell again, changing its form if a different kind of elemental is summoned. You can't have more than one familiar at a time. If you cast this spell while you already have a elemental servant, you instead cause it to adopt a new form
The GM has the elemental's statistics, but if the size is naturally Large, the size is changed to medium. Sample elementals can be found below.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 9th level, the challenge rating increases by 1 and the material cost increase by 500gp for the respective gemstone.
