The Artificer creates a flame of up to 1700 degrees Fahrenheit from one finger, ideal for spot forging and welding.  The flame only extends about 4 inches, but is highly focused.  The flame can be turned on or off at will as long as concentration is maintained until the duration expires.

If used as a weapon, make a touch spell attack, dealing 3d8 fire damage on a hit.

Casting at a higher level raises the temperature of the flame by 200 degrees Fahrenheit and 1d8 per additional spell level.  Warning: forging at higher temperatures is not always desirable for forging some metals.

* - (A piece of flint and a pinch of pitch (pitch is consumed in casting))
