The next time you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack during the technique's duration, you channel your chi through your weapon. The attack deals an extra 1d6 damage, and has a unique effect depending on your core elemental phase.
(Fire Release) Your weapon flares with white-hot intensity, and the attack deals fire damage to the target and causes the target to ignite in flames. At the start of each of its turns until the technique ends, the target must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, it takes 1d6 fire damage. On a successful save, the technique ends. If the target or a creature within 5 feet of it uses an action to put out the flames, or if some other effect douses the flames (such as the target being submerged in water), the technique ends.
(Water Release) Your weapon shines like a flowing river, and the attack deals cold damage to the target. Additionally, if the target is a creature, it must succeed on a Strength saving throw or be pushed 10 feet away from you and knocked prone.
(Wood Release) Your weapons handle and guard sprout roots, and the attack deals force damage. Additionally, if the target is a creature, it must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, you then touch the target where you struck and wooden spikes grow from the wound away from you dealing 1d6 piercing damage. On a successful save, the technique ends.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this technique using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the initial extra damage dealt by the attack increases by 1d6 for each slot.
