The target creature needs to succeed on a charisma saving throw. If it fails, then for the duration of the spell, the target calms down. The creature feels safe and relaxed, letting the negative emotions rest. The spell does not affect creatures hostile to you. Any attempts of hostility or violence from a friendly creature break the enchantment.
This spell can target one additional creature when you reach 5th level (2), 11th level (3), and 17th level (4). The creatures must be within 10 feet of you when you target them.
