When you cast this spell you create a 5 ft by 5 ft stone chess piece that appears in an unoccupied space of your choice within range that lasts for the duration. When you cast this spell, and as an action on subsequent turns, you can cause the chess piece to move 30 feet in a straight line in any direction. If there is a medium or smaller creature in this path, the creature must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failure, they take 2d8 bludgeoning damage and are pushed 15 feet away in the direction the chess piece moved. On a success, the creature is pushed 5 feet in a direction of its choice without taking any damage. The chess piece then stops at the space the creature used to occupy.
If you use your action to move the chess piece into the space of a large or bigger creature the piece does not move and your action is wasted.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, an additional chess piece is summoned for each slot level above 1st. You can use an action to move any number of these chess pieces.
