You create an attention-grabbing thing and have it attract the attention of a creature. That creature makes a Wis saving throw DC 15 or against  your spell save DC, whichever is higher or their attention is obtained by the thing you create, losing whatever action they were doing. If they are attacked, they lose interest on the thing.

During each of the creature's turns, it may make an intelligence(investigation) check DC 16. If they succeed, they discern the thing to be an illusion and are immune to this spell's effect for the remainder of the day.

If the spell ends while the creature's attention is still on it, then that creature may choose to search for it. That creature makes an intelligence check. On a success, they realize the thing was an illusion. On a fail, they deduce it just has gone off to somewhere. Either way, they return to what they were doing before their attention was grabbed.
