Corn Chain Sprouts

Target within 60 ft must make a Con saving throw (DC 12) or suffer 5d4 necrotic damage as stalks of corn violently shoot out of their body, using the target's body as sustenance. The corn cobs on the stalks then burst into popcorn, shooting a spray of deadly kernels dealing 1d6 piercing damage to any creature that starts their turn within 10 ft. The target can make a Con saving (DC 10) throw on their turn, on a failed save take another 5d4 necrotic damage. The spell ends on a successful save.

* If cast at 6th level the target within 60 ft must make a Con saving throw (DC 16) or suffer 8d4 necrotic damage . The corn cobs on the stalks then burst into popcorn, shooting a spray of deadly kernels dealing 2d6 piercing damage to any creature that starts their turn within 20 ft.That target must make a Con saving throw (DC 12) on their next turn. On a failed they take another 5d4 necrotic damage, and release another popcorn burst. This effect continues until they succeed or die. Each target affected by the popcorn burst must then make a Con saving throw on their next turn. On a failed save they take 10d4 necrotic damage and release a popcorn burst. This chain reaction continues until all affected creatures make their saves, or die.

A person who has made their save can be affected on subsequent turns by other creatures popcorn bursts.
