You thrust the key into a 5x5 solid surface and turn it. The key vanishes in a puff of black smoke and the surface becomes a doorway, from which small amounts of black fog crawl out as if alive. The doorway is large enough to allow Medium creatures to pass through unhindered. Even if the surface you created the doorway on is practically 2D, those looking into the doorway cannot see through the surface. Rather, they see endless darkness.
Creatures that end or start their turn in the doorway are teleported to another spot within range, which you choose when creating the doorway. There is a 10 foot cube margin for error, centered on the spot you chose. Creatures may be teleported to any space within this 10 foot cube as chosen by the DM, but cannot teleport to a space they would not be able to enter normally. A creature with a burrowing speed, for example, can be teleported into the ground or wall, while a creature without cannot.
You lose concentration if you are teleported through the doorway.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th level or higher, the range increases by 150 feet for each slot level above 4th.
