You touch a piece of ammunition when casting this spell to charge it with static. Before the spell ends, when the piece of ammunition is used for a ranged weapon attack, it deals an additional 3d6 lightning damage on a hit. After the ammunition is fired, the spell ends.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2rd level or higher, the extra damage increases by 1d6 for each slot level above 1st.
