You form an intense bolt of fire which you launch at a creature or object you can see within range. Make a ranged spell attack against the target. On a hit the target takes 1d10 fire damage. Whether you hit or miss the bolt of fire explods and the target, if a creature, and any creatures within 5 ft of that target, must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or take 2d6 fire damage.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher the damage of the explosion (2d6) increase by 1d6 for each slot level above 1st.

Posted Sep 25, 2021Some suggested editing changes to fix some typos and grammar given below. I love this spell and give it to my players of a regular basis.

On a successful hit the target takes 1d10 fire damage from the impact. Whether you hit or miss the bolt of fire explodes on or near the target. Any creatures (including the target) within 5 ft of this explosion, must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or take 2d6 fire damage.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher the damage of the explosion increases by 1d6 for each slot level above 1st.
