You forge a telepathic circle with up to four (4) additional willing creatures of your choice within range, psychically linking each creature to all the others for the duration. Creatures with Intelligence scores of 2 or less aren't affected by this spell.
Until the spell ends, the targets can communicate telepathically through the bond whether or not they have a common language. Only one telepathic circle may be active at one time. Telepathic communication is possible within 1 mile of the spellcaster. If a creature subject to the spell is incapacitated or travels more than 1 mile away from the source, it is removed from the telepathic circle until the spell is recast.
You may choose to imbue the circle with one (1) of the following additional effects:
- Targets have anonymity when speaking within the circle. All targets are aware of this additional effect.
- Targets can't speak a deliberate lie within the telepathic circle. All targets are aware of this additional effect and can thus avoid answering questions to which they would normally respond with a lie. Targets can be evasive in their answers as long as they remain within the boundaries of the truth.
- Each target can read the thoughts of each other target in the circle. As an action on each turn until the spell ends, a target can focus its mind on another target within the circle, initially learning their surface thoughts - what is most on its mind in that moment. As an additional action, the initiator can attempt to probe deeper into the target's mind. If probed deeper, the target must make a Wisdom saving throw. If it fails, the initiator gains insight into the target's reasoning (if any), its emotional state, and something that looms large in its mind (such as something it worries over, loves, or hates), without the target's knowledge. If it succeeds, the target knows that you are probing into its mind and can allow the probe to proceed or choose to deny access, which ends the spell for all targets and deals 1d10 psychic damage to the initiator of the probe.
