The caster places the smooth obsidian in an open flame and designates an area within 60 ft. of themselves to become a molten battlefield for the duration. The area covers a 40 foot cube and immolates any nonmagical plant life as well as evaporates all water that isnt being worn or carried. The burning terrain can be extinguished with 40 gallons of water or rain on subsequent turns, such as that from the create or destroy water spell.

Upon casting the spell and by using an action on subsequent turns, the caster causes up to 5 beams of molten rock to erupt towards a target within the cube, make a seperate attack roll for each beam, on a hit the target takes 2d8 fire damage and ignites, taking an additional 1d8 fire damage at the end of each of it's turns for the duration. A creature can use it's action to put out the flames burning itself or another target within 5ft. of the creature. A creature can only be targeted by one of this spell's beams per round.

An additional beam of molten rock is created upon casting and subsequent turns for each spell slot level above level 5.
