As part of this spell, make a melee attack with a weapon. Your weapon is sheathed in a layer of frost. If it misses, the spell fails. On a hit, the creature is encased in a thin layer of freezing cold ice. If they willingly make an attack before the start of your next turn, they take 1d8 cold damage and the spell ends.
Higher Levels: As you increase in levels, your cantrips level up. At 5th level, the target takes and extra 1d8 cold damage on hit, and takes 2d8 cold when the spell end. Both rolls increase by 1d8 at 11th and 17th level.
