Damage/Effect

You make a minor alteration to a piece of art, be it a painting, sculpture, illustration, book, or some other physical creation deemed appropriate by the DM.  The alteration may take one of the following forms:

  • A minor change to an expression, environment, position, pose, or color.
  • A harmless, sensory effect that can be felt or observed while within 10 feet of the art, such as musical notes, the sounds of chatter, the smell of books, or the patter of rain.
  • A change of up to three letters if the art has a paragraph or less of text, or the change of a passage if the art has more than a page of text.
  • The addition of a new mark or symbol.

An art piece may only have one alteration at a time.  If you cast this spell multiple times, you can have up to three of its effects active at a time.  When you cast this spell and have three active alterations, the earliest of the alterations vanishes.  A creature may attempt to dispel an alteration with an Intelligence (Arcana) check with a DC equal to your spell save DC.
