With this ritual the caster is able to purify the aura of one object. The cantrip can be used to remove some low level enchantments and glamours from objects in a way acting like a very minor Dispel Magic. It can turn holy or unholy water into normal water and it can clear minor jinxes or other fell aurae by functioning like a very minor Remove Curse. The cantrip has a diverse range of applications but in general it is used to prepare an item to a neutral state so that additional enchantments are not contaminated by any pre-existing impure aura.
Once an item has had its aurae purified the object will remain in a purified state until it is touched by another person or is otherwise exposed to additional magical effects, such as simply being within the area of effect of another spell.
