With this spell the caster is able to enchant an area that alerts the caster to false assertions spoken within the area of effect (an immobile sphere 15 feet in radius, centred at a point within range). There is no visible or otherwise normally detectable evidence that the enchantment has been erected. Whenever a creature, completely inside the enchanted area, knowingly utters a false statement the caster alone will hear the sound of a small bell ringing.
The spell can end early if the caster dismisses the enchantment, the effect is dispelled, or if a logical paradox is encountered.
If a creature in the Zone of Veracity utters a paradoxical statement the spell ends immediately in a bright flash of light. Moreover, the caster will be left with a nasty headache and a persistent ringing in their ears for a few minutes.
Any cleric that knows this spell will wince whenever they hear someone say those five little words: This sentence is a lie.
