A pulse of necrotic energy flows from the caster to the target, disturbing the surroundings with a sense of death. If the target is living, they must make a Constitution saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failure, the target takes 10 (4D4) necrotic damage, and takes an additional 5 (2D4) necrotic damage at the start of each turn for the duration of the spell. On a success, they take half damage, and the spell ends. They can repeat this saving throw at the end of each of their turns, ending the spell on a success.

When cast on a corpse, the body begins to rapidly decay, and will be entirely reduced to bone over the course of 1 hour. The bones will not be decayed in this manner.

At Higher Levels. When cast at higher levels of the 3rd spell slot or higher, add an additional D4 to each damage roll.
