A swirling cloud of fire will cover the sky in a 1 mile radius. Red lightning will flash in these burning ash clouds and cinders will rain down to the ground.
Each creature under the cloud (no more than 5,000 feet beneath the cloud) when it appears must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 2d6 fire damage and be set on fire. A creature set on fire will take 2d6 fire damage at the start of their turn, they can use an action to extinguish the flames. All flammable object not worn or carried will be set on fire.
Each round you maintain concentration on this spell, the storm produces additional effects on your turn.
| Round | Effect |
|---|---|
| 2 | Heated ash falls from the cloud. Each creature under the cloud makes a Constitution save or be blinded until they or someone else uses an action to remove the ash. |
| 3 | You call six bolts of lightning from the cloud to strike six creatures or objects of your choice beneath the cloud. A given creature or object can’t be struck by more than one bolt. A struck creature must make a Dexterity saving throw. The creature takes 10d6 lightning damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. |
| 4 | You call 10 spires of flames, each spire is 10ft in radius and is 50ft high. it will strike at 10 points of your choosing. A struck creature must make a Dexterity saving throw. the creature takes 8d6 fire damage on a failed save and be set on fire, taking 2d6 fire damage at the start of their turn until they use an action to extinguish the flame, or half as much and not be set ablaze on a successful one. |
| 5-10 | Gusts and scorching cinders assail the area under the cloud. The area becomes difficult terrain and is heavily obscured. Each creature there takes 1d6 fire damage. Ranged weapon attacks in the area are impossible. The wind and rain count as a severe distraction for the purposes of maintaining concentration on spells. Finally, gusts of strong wind (ranging from 20 to 50 miles per hour) automatically disperse fog, mists, and similar phenomena in the area whether mundane or magical. |
