You summon the bones of a medium or larger corpse that you can see within range to your hand in the form of a skeletal polearm with which you are proficient. It counts as a simple melee weapon, deals 1d6 piercing damage on a hit, and has the Reach, Thrown (20/60), and Heavy properties. Additionally, when you make an attack with this weapon, you can use your spellcasting ability instead of Strength for the attack and damage rolls made using it.
Immediately after throwing the Bone Lance as a ranged attack on your turn, you may telekinetically pull it back to your hand as a bonus action. The lance moves in a straight line and if you successfully damaged a large or smaller creature with the ranged attack you just made, you may force it to make a Strength saving throw or be dragged to a space of your choice within 5 feet of you when you recall the lance.
The weapon crumbles into dust at the end of this spell's duration, when you dismiss it as a bonus action, or cast this spell again.
When casting this spell, you may choose to target a skeleton or zombie within range instead of a corpse however doing so increases this spell's casting time to 1 action. The target must make a Constitution saving throw. The target takes 1d8 force damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one, as you magically rip its skeleton apart in order to make your weapon.
At Higher Levels: this spell's damage when cast on skeletons and zombies increases by 1d8 when you reach 5th Level (2d8), 11th Level (3d8), and 17th Level (4d8).
