You create an arc of lightning between yourself and one creature you can see within 90 feet. Make a ranged spell attack against the target, with advantage if the target is wearing metal armor. On a hit, the target takes 1d6 lightning damage.
This spell's damage increases by 1d6 when you reach 5th level (2d6), 11th level (3d6), and 17th level (4d6).

Posted Oct 18, 2021I created this spell to give a proper ranged lightning cantrip for Tempest Clerics and Storm Sorcerers, or anyone else lightning/storm themed.
This version is balanced against Fire Bolt, dealing less damage (d6's vs d10's) with no igniting of objects and a slightly shorter range (90 feet vs. 120 feet), however it has advantage against targets wearing metal armour making it a very reliable attack cantrip against metal armoured enemies, and with a less resisted damage type.
