You choose a portion of dirt or stone that you can see within range and fits within a 3-foot cube. You cause the chosen earth to heat rapidly and emit dim light, which becomes liquefied at the spell’s duration limit and fully cools after three rounds.

Any creature making physical contact with the heated earth takes 1d6 fire damage. Until the spell ends, you can use a bonus action on each of your subsequent turns to cause this damage again. If a creature is standing on the heated earth and takes damage from it, the creature must succeed on a Con saving throw or move out of the heated earth’s area. A creature still in contact with the earth once it liquefies must succeed on a Dex saving throw or take 1d10 fire damage, leaving semi-permanent scarring.
