This spell was invented by the Iron Golem named Cobble, who was a scrapper in the Astral Plane. He used this space to work on personal projects. It also served as an escape room during desperate times.
Placing down a small, gear-decorated disk*, you produce the hatch to a 10-foot by 10-foot extradimensional workshop, complete with a constructed roof, walls, and dual windows on each side. The hatch is circular, and 3 feet in diameter, including a basic handle on one side. The interiors of this workshop are constructed of wrought iron, stone, and wood, like that of a medieval blacksmith shop. This spell can be cast on any surface that would support the weight of a normal hatch, or in the open space of the Astral Sea. If cast with or without ground support, the hatch locks itself in place after the disk expands, unaffecting the orientation of the inside if askew or upside-down. Because of this, the disk may not be thrown during activation and must be held before casting to confirm placement.
When activated, the workshop hatch slowly expands; once opened, it reveals a descending ladder to the entryway. The hatch has an Arcane Lock placed onto it and is susceptible to the same protections and weaknesses of the spell. All of the walls, windows, and built-in furniture carry the properties of an extradimensional space. The windows inside show the fabricated facade of a landscape from the Feywild, the seasons changing with that of the Material Plane. This environment is not a real location, and cannot be entered, nor interacted with. This room can become airtight upon sealing all openings, allowing for any experiments generating smell or fumes to be contained.
Inside the workshop lies a small coal forge and anvil, a workbench with tool racks (choose any set of artisan's tools with which you are proficient), two normal chests, a simple bed, and two bookshelves holding minor decor and books. You may place any objects inside this room or on shelves, and they will remain there as long as the same disk is used to recast the spell. After 24 hours, the room will return to its initial component state, leaving all remaining objects inside, and ejecting any lingering creatures within 5 feet. Damaging any objects or furniture inside will not affect the space, but the base amenities cannot be restored without repairing the disk in its component form with Mending, or any equivalent tool. Any included objects lost or destroyed will return with a newly made, bought, or repaired gearbox.
This spell can also be cast multiple times. If a second disk is deployed, the new hatch replaces the old one (now leading to nowhere). If the hatch is destroyed or dispelled of magic, the spell ends, and all inhabitants or additional objects inside are quickly ejected within 5 feet of the active hatch.
At higher levels, the number of rooms inside the extradimensional spaces increases, allowing for more storage and customization of the space. Every 3rd level (3rd, 6th, 9th), the number of extra rooms inside the space increases by one. These rooms may be used for any purposes, at your DMs discretion (ex. research stations, storage areas, drafting tables), and share the same properties of the original room.
