Your perception shifts for the duration of your turn to view straight down from your position and a circle radius of 60ft in all directions. beyond this, you cannot see. As part of this spell casting, make a perception check to spot creatures. Regardless of cover, if you can see the target from above, you can now target the creature.
If you are going to make a ranged spell attack in this way, you have disadvantage.
If there is a roof or object directly over you that you are not wearing or carrying. Your view is limited to directly under that roof or object, still limited to a 60ft radius circle.
When cast at higher levels: for every level cast above 1st your view range maximum increases by 60ft. If cast at a level above 2nd you no longer have disadvantage on attacks. For every level after 2nd, the spell lasts for one more round.
